MISSIONS
Saturday Sandwich Ministry
The Mission Committee launched its Saturday Sandwich Ministry on February 27, 2010. Our church has joined with Loaves and Fishes to prepare and deliver approximately 100 bag lunches to Mebane area people in need on the last Saturday of every month for a committed term of one year.
This is an ongoing ministry in which Loaves and Fishes furnishes the names, addresses, and number of lunches needed.
A group of 8-10 volunteers will meet at the church on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. to prepare the bag lunches and deliver them. This will require a two-hour time commitment. Please prayerfully consider having your circle, Sunday school class, bible study group, family group, etc. sign up for a Saturday to carry on this needed community outreach. Ben Saunders, Libby Born, and Linda Zeller are contact persons.
Each bag lunch contains the following:
The Mission Committee is asking for donations of all the bag lunch items. Bring the items to the church office. These will be stored in the old pantry room. Bread will be purchased from donated funds.
