The collected items will be sent to ministries that work with impoverished families and at-risk children here in North Carolina. If you can help, please bring your donations to church from Sunday, June 6 to Sunday, June 20. On Monday, June 28, Mebane United Methodist Women will be holding a fundraiser at The Blue Ribbon Diner. All proceeds raised will be sent to the MATCH ministry at the N.C. Correctional Institution for Women. MATCH is an interfaith organization created to address the needs of children and their incarcerated mothers. Please come and support this ministry and enjoy a great meal at the same time. The fundraiser flyer will be available at church in June. It is necessary for anyone supporting this cause to present the flyer when ordering a meal so that Mebane UMW will receive 15% of the total check.

MISSIONS
Saturday Sandwich Ministry
Our church has joined with Loaves and Fishes to prepare and deliver approximately 100 bag lunches to Mebane area people in need on the last Saturday of every month for a committed term of one year.
This is an ongoing ministry in which Loaves and Fishes furnishes the names, addresses, and number of lunches needed.
A group of 8-10 volunteers will meet at the church on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. to prepare the bag lunches and deliver them. This will require a two-hour time commitment. Please prayerfully consider having your circle, Sunday school class, bible study group, family group, etc. sign up for a Saturday to carry on this needed community outreach. Ben Saunders, Libby Born, and Linda Zeller are contact persons.
Each bag lunch contains the following:
The Mission Committee is asking for donations of all the bag lunch items. Bring the items to the church office. These will be stored in the old pantry room. Bread will be purchased from donated funds.

NEWS
Regardless of the stage you are at in your life, there is a Sunday morning class at 9:45 am for you. Nursery: Provided during the Sunday school hour for children younger than 3 years-old in Room 214 Pre-School: Ages 3 – Pre-K, Room 215, taught by Kim Pate & Melissa Brant Early Elementary: Grades K-2, Room 313, taught by Lynn Jones & assisted by Mike Viola & Mike Graves Both of the above classes use the new Rock Solid curriculum, where young hearts and minds are engaged with age-appropriate multi-sensory activities, crafts, stories, and games, all designed to give children an opportunity to know God through Jesus. Each week, the children encounter a Bible story, helping them to understand the Scripture and apply it to their daily lives. Fall themes include In the Beginning, God Chooses a People, and Trusting God’s Promises. Older Elementary: Grades 3-5, Room 312, taught by Mary Spradlin and assisted by Mike Graves, continues with the understanding of how to use/find things in the Bible and other concepts important to our worship and faith. Middle High: Grades 6-8, Room 311, taught by David Pate and assisted by Elizabeth Weislak, using the curriculum, Claim the Life: Faith Senior High: Grades 9-12, Room 307, taught by David Weislak using the curriculum, Claim the Life: Call Claim the Life… Claim it!… Feel it!…Live it! is a six-year, comprehensive spiritual formation and discipleship plan for Sunday school youth that follows them “from confirmation to graduation.” Koinonia: Primarily folks in their 30’s, 40’s & 50’s, this class discusses a variety of topics in Room 212 and taught by Bill Oliver. (Please see article on page 4) New Beginnings: Made up of “wise adults who are young at heart,” this class meets in Room _____ and studies International Adult Bible Studies with a fall theme based on The New Testament Community. Ralph Snyder and Carole Teague lead the class in a discussion format. The Workers Bible Class: A diverse class, meeting in Room 219 and led by Kitty Hupman, Peg Kueider, and BJ Smith, this class combines lecture and discussion as it studies a wide variety of topics. The Upper Room Class: Meeting in Room 220 and led by Jane Johnson, this participatory and intergenerational class is currently studying “Living the Good Life Together” Christian Parenting: designed for parents with young children age birth through elementary school (please see article on page 4 for more details)
